Harmony pleads guilty to domestic violence count
LISBON – Robert Harmony, 45, East Fourth Street, Salem, pleaded guilty Thursday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to a domestic violence charge.
He struck his wife, Christiane on the side of the face with an open hand on July 4, 2013. According to probate court records, Harmony and his wife had only married on June 20. Sentencing was set for March 27.
The charge is unrelated to the murder charge Harmony is facing in the stabbing death of 23-year-old Gerrod S. Lanzendorfer in November.
Harmony had been out on bond for the domestic violence case when the alleged murder of Lanzendorfer occurred on South Broadway in Salem. He was bound over in July to the grand jury on the domestic violence charge, which was a felony due to a previous domestic violence conviction in 2009. The grand jury then issued an open indictment for Harmony on the charge in late July.
The jury trial on the murder charge is currently scheduled for the first week in February.
