– Firefighters responded to a building in the 400 block of East State Street after a tenant walked into the fire station at 12:01 p.m. Tuesday to report an odor of natural gas. The building was checked, with nothing found.
Columbia Gas was notified as a precaution.
– Firefighters responded to Salem Regional Medical Center, 1995 E. State St., at 9:25 a.m. Monday for an alarm. A smoke detector activated in the sprinkler riser room in the bottom parking deck due to a large amount of dust which resulted during the cleaning of the parking deck.
– Firefighters responded to 544 East Perry Street at 1:05 p.m. Friday for a report of a burning smell without a fire. They checked the structure and found no problems.
