Clues sought in Perry burglary

PERRY TWP. – Township police are still searching for information while checking tips regarding a burglary at Homestead Pools late Wednesday night.

“We’re following up on leads,” Det. Steve Smith said Friday.

Police received a call at 10:41 p.m. Wednesday to respond to the business at the corner of Depot Road and state Route 45. An employee working inside reported her dog started growling and she saw a person in the building who bolted into another room and then ran outside.

Police searched the surrounding area, including some woods, but did not find anyone. The next morning, the business reported $700 missing.

A photo of the alleged intruder taken from surveillance video was posted on the Perry Township Police Department’s Facebook page, garnering several comments and tips.

Smith said anyone with information about the burglary or about the identity of the person in the photo should request to speak to him at 330-337-7836.
