Leetonia man not indicted
LISBON – Steven W. Watters II, 35, Miller Road, Leetonia, was not indicted by the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury this week on a burglary charge. Watters was bound over to the grand jury from Columbiana County Municipal Court on a burglary charge, however, the grand jury, which met this week, chose not to indict him. Watters was accused of going into a home on state Route 172, where the resident found him in the dining room area on Feb. 24. About $565 was taken from the home.
Donald R. Reese, 35, Harmony, Pa., was sentenced to three years probation for possession of drugs, which he pleaded guilty to on Nov. 14, 2013. Reese reportedly had cocaine in his possession on Feb. 22, 2012.
James A. Moore, 25, Jackson Street, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of drugs for buprenorphine, diazepam and clonazepam in his possession on May 3, 2013. He was immediately sentenced to eight months in prison consecutive to the sentence he is currently serving in another felony case in which he pleaded guilty to breaking and entering. In that case he was sentenced last October to six months in prison for breaking into Catholic Charities, East Fourth Street, East Liverpool, stealing money and a video game system from the charity’s office.
A conviction in East Liverpool Municipal Court of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle against Graylen L. Thornton, 27, Globe Street, East Liverpool, has been appealed. On March 11, Thornton pleaded no contest, was fined $200 and ordered to surrender his conceal carry permit.
