Pretrial set for township trustee charged with drunken driving
LISBON – An April 8 pretrial was set in Columbiana County Municipal Court this week for a Yellow Creek Township trustee charged with drunken driving.
Glenn A. McKenzie, 55, of state Route 39, Wellsville, was charged with OVI first offense after a highway patrol trooper reportedly found his vehicle in a ditch on Route 39 just south of state Route 164 at 8:24 p.m. Feb. 6.
According to court documents, McKenzie told the trooper he had moved over for another vehicle which had gone left of center, and was sucked into a ditch.
He admitted to having a couple beers at about 5 p.m., the patrol said.
After he was charged with OVI, McKenzie reportedly told troopers on the way to the highway patrol post that a man he did not know stopped at the scene after the crash and gave him two shots of something which tasted like moonshine to help calm him down.
