Salem woman pleads guilty on 2 counts

LISBON – A Salem woman is scheduled to be sentenced on May 15 after pleading guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to two counts of receiving stolen property.

Melanie D. Paulin, 36, of Sharp Street, admitted to being in possession of a credit card and debit card stolen from Sue Cole in the Salem Walmart in November 2011. Two additional charges of using those credit cards were dismissed as part of the plea deal reached with the county prosecutor’s office.

Paulin also pleaded guilty to smuggling heroin in the county jail on April 16, 2013. She will be sentenced for that crime also on May 15.
