Steubenville man pleads guilty
LISBON – Sterling Hughey, 25, Steubenville, pleaded guilty to a lessor offense of receiving stolen property, a first degree misdemeanor. He was ordered to pay a $250 fine. A review hearing was set for June 9. Hughey was accused of driving a stolen Impala on Aug. 5, 2012 southbound on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township. The vehicle was reported as stolen by Avis Budget Group on June 15, 2012 in Southfield, Mich. Hughey was initially charged with a felony receiving stolen property charge.
Jacob S. Stryffeler, 22, South 12th Street, Beloit, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs for four-Methylethcathinone in his possession on June 18, 2013. Sentencing is set for May 15. He faces up to 12 months in prison, a five-year license suspension and a $2,500 fine.
Steven B. Smarr, 38, East George Avenue, Sebring, was given four years probation with the first six months to be served at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center. Smarr was charged with trespassing into the home of Bonnie Detchon and Christopher Fritz, North Street, Beloit, on June 8, 2013 after crashing his vehicle on Case Road.
