Hanoverton man pleads guilty in stolen gun case

LISBON -Thomas D. Pitts, 21, Foundry Hill Road, Hanoverton, pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to receiving stolen property.

Pitts took a .32-caliber semi-automatic Baretta handgun and a Charles Daly 20-gauge double barrel shotgun, miscellaneous scopes and ammunition from the home of his father, Harry Pitts. Thomas Pitts then sold the items to a neighbor without his father’s permission.

He faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine. Sentencing is set for June 23.
