Woman in prison pleads guilty to new offense, gets 10 months additional

LISBON – An East Liverpool woman already in prison on a drug charge will stay there a bit longer after pleading guilty to another drug offense this week in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.

Christy A. Harpold, 35, East Fifth Street, pleaded guilty as charged to trafficking in drugs after being found with heroin in East Liverpool in November 2013. She asked to be sentenced immediately and was ordered incarcerated for 10 months in a state prison.

Judge Scott Washam also ordered the sentence be served consecutively with the one-year prison sentence Harpold received in January for trying to smuggle a crack pipe into the county jail while being processed on other charges in December 2012.
