EP man gets probation for theft

LISBON – Todd Kirtley, 31, Alice Street, East Palestine, was placed on three years probation for theft after he apologized to those in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court on Thursday and to the owner of the business from which he stole. His defense attorney, Ross Smith, noted Kirtley had been forthright about what he did from the start and Smith said he does not believe Kirtley is a criminal. Kirtley took two laser transits valued at $3,935 from a construction trailer on Peace Valley Road on May 28, 2013.

Stefan L. White, 20, Echo Dell Road, Rogers, pleaded guilty to a possession of drugs charge with a forfeiture specification for cocaine and $2,509 in his possession on Sept. 11, 2013. Sentencing was set for July 3. He faces up to 12 months in prison, a five-year license suspension and a $2,500 fine.
