Washingtonville man pleads guilty to robbery
LISBON – In Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, Steven J. Davis, 38, East Washington Street, Washingtonville, pleaded guilty to robbery for stealing metal from his employer Gray-Fin on May 25, 2012. When confronted by his supervisor, Davis assaulted the person and fled the scene. He faces up to three years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Sentencing is set for Aug. 8.
Robert P. Blake II, 25, Commerce Street, Wellsville, was found to have violated his probation for a previous conviction of cultivation of marijuana and was sentenced to six months in prison. Blake had been growing five marijuana plants in an above ground swimming pool, four plants on a side porch, one plant in his backyard and 80 plants in his basement.
Joseph M. Smith, 28, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, pleaded guilty to two counts possession of drugs for having a spoon inside his apartment containing both heroin and fentanlyn. He was granted intervention in lieu of conviction for three years.
Jacob S. Stryffeler, 22, South 12th Street, Beloit, was sentenced to three years probation for possession of drugs. Stryffeler had four-methylethcathinone in a straw and a pill bottle in his vehicle on June 18, 2013.
The intervention in lieu of conviction program for Michael J. Spencer, 26, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, was dishonorably terminated for violations. He was sentenced to probation and ordered to pay the Counseling Center for his intervention in lieu of conviction evaluation. Spencer had been convicted of possession of drugs after pleading guilty in December.
Eric L. Mellinger, 42, Sherman Street, Lisbon,was found in violation of his probation on a non-support of dependents conviction. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail.
