Leetonia man found incompetent for trial

LISBON – Alan Stryker, 22, Anglemeyer Road, Leetonia, was found incompetent to stand trial. Stryker had been charged with rape for allegedly engaging in sex acts with a person either by threat or force in August 2013 at the Sheltered Workshop on County Home Road, Lisbon. The court noted that the evaluation stated it was unlikely Stryker would ever be in a condition to assist in his own defense. The charge against Stryker was dismissed with prejudice.

John M. Simonds, 52, Main Street, Leetonia, was sentenced to a year in prison, fined $1,350 and had his license suspended for a lifetime for OVI. Simonds was driving while under the influence on Aug. 15, 2011, on Old state Route 344 when he already has three prior convictions for OVI.
