New Waterford man gets probation for allowing marijuana cultivation
LISBON – In Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Russell F. Rogers Jr., 65, Carter Road, New Waterford, was placed on three years probation for attempted cultivation of marijuana. Rogers had participated in growing 31 marijuana plants (11,821 grams) throughout the Carter Road property on Aug. 27, 2012.
Maurice L. Brown, 23, Canfield, pleaded guilty to illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility. He faces up to three years in prison, a five year license suspension and a $10,000 fine. Sentencing is set for Oct. 9. Brown had two paper packets containing .6 grams of cocaine inside his rear body cavity when he was being booked into the county jail on Oct. 2.
Barry S. Rummel, 50, North Pleasant Drive, East Palestine, pleaded guilty to having a weapon while under a disability for a New England Arms .410 gauge shotgun in his Jeep on Dec. 20, 2013. He faces up to three years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Sentencing is set for Oct. 9.
Jeffrey Reynolds, 47, last known address Cleveland Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $1,350, had his license suspended for life and sentenced to 12 months in prison for OVI after having five previous convictions.
Jared M. Coil, 26, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, was found in violation of his probation and was sentenced to nine months in prison for a previous theft conviction for taking an ATV belonging to Jeff Kelly in early 2009. He was credited with 245 days served.
Robert G. Doak, 36, Norman Avenue, Alliance, was sentenced to seven months in prison for domestic violence, but credited with 212 days served. Doak on Oct. 13, 2013 harmed Jillian Mercer and already had two previous convictions of domestic violence in 2003 and 2005.
Timothy Spears, 47, New Cumberland, W.Va., was placed on three years probation for non support of dependents.
Sherri L. Lanam, 26, Kent Street, East Liverpool, was found in violation of her probation for possession of drugs, cocaine in June 2007. She was sentenced to 20 days in jail.
