SALEM

— Zachary Davis, 32, of Market Street, Columbiana, reported at 11:05 a.m. Friday that he left the driveway at Walmart and began traveling east on state Route 14. A man was pushing a bicycle in the westbound lane when a westbound pickup was approaching the bicycle from the rear and moved to the left to pass it. The pickup’s driver side mirror struck the driver side mirror on the Davis vehicle, destroying it. It will need replaced. The westbound pickup did not stop.

— A woman in the 800 block of West Pershing Street reported at 8:46 a.m. Friday that her neighbor has been constantly screaming and yelling and being very loud. She said it starts at 7:15 a.m. every morning when the female neighbor yells at her children getting ready for school. Officers talked to the neighbor who said she was unaware of the neighbor’s problem but she does not yell any obscenities at her children. Officers saw two young boys there and all appeared to be fine with the female neighbor saying she had taken the other children to the bus stop and they were in school.

— Police were called at 3:14 a.m. Friday for a female screaming in the 1000 block of Cleveland Street. The caller said a male and female got into a black Neon with temporary license plates and headed toward East State Street on Hawley Avenue. An officer saw the vehicle pulling into Circle K East, 1125 E. State St., and made contact with the occupants. The female said she had been yelling for her dog that got loose on Cleveland Street. They reported no problems between the two of them.

— Police responded at 1:18 a.m. Friday to the 900 block of Prospect Street for a domestic dispute. A caller reported receiving a call from her mother advising of a domestic between her mother and her mother’s boyfriend. Officers arrived at the Prospect Street address and found the boyfriend had left on foot. The mother said she and her boyfriend had an argument over him talking about quitting his job at a local restaurant and he threatened physical harm. Officers explained to her how to get a protection order. They also checked  the area for the boyfriend and did not find him.

— Antonio Jackson, 35, of Warren, was cited for open container in a motor vehicle after a traffic stop in the 200 block of West State Street at 8:22 p.m. Thursday. Jackson was the passenger in a vehicle where an open container of alcohol was found on the passenger side. K-9 Simon alerted to the presence of the scent of narcotics inside the vehicle. The driver said the owner often uses narcotics inside the vehicle, but nothing of interest was located. The driver was given a written warning for the driving offense which led to the stop.

— An anonymous person came to the station at 5:46 p.m. Thursday to speak with officers about an incident that occurred earlier in the year. Information will be added to the original report.

— A woman from the 200 block of West Fourth Street came to the police station at 5:36 p.m. Thursday to ask questions about custody of her grandchildren. She was given options for dealing with the matter.

— Police were called at 5:32 p.m. Thursday to the 1100 block of East Pershing Street for a reported fight/domestic, but no persons involved could be located.

— Frank Mitchell, 44, of 195 Chris Ave., Washingtonville, was charged with theft and taken to the Columbiana County jail after police were called at 5:16 p.m. Thursday to Walmart on East State Street for a shoplifting incident. Asset protection personnel provided police with pictures and a list of items the person allegedly stole and officers took him into custody.

— Eugene Bennett, 73, of Jefferson Avenue, was cited for failure to yield  after attempting to pull his vehicle out of Circle K West and striking an eastbound vehicle on West State Street driven by Pamela Rafferty-Semon, 50, of West High Street, East Palestine.
