SALEM

— A company in charge of a foreclosed home on Southeast Boulevard reported at 8:09 a.m. Thursday that damage was done to the interior door and plumbing, with some of the plumbing stolen.

— A woman in the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue reported at 7:56 a.m. Thursday that she never received a package that was delivered to her property by the postal service at 11:11 a.m. Oct. 22. She feels it was removed from her mailbox without permission. The package contained three rings valued at $83.

— A woman in the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive reported at 7:24 a.m. Thursday that she found a man on her front porch who did not live there. She believed he was intoxicated and left on foot going east. Officers located the man sitting on the front porch of the building next door. He said he accidentally went to the wrong apartment and was now sitting at his residence. He was told to enter his apartment due to his intoxication.

— An interior motion alarm was reported at a business on Allen Road at 11:56 p.m. Wednesday. Police found an open door and officers checked the interior with nothing found amiss. The  keyholder arrived, the business was secured and the alarm reset.

— Melanie Sobek, 43, of 413 S. Lincoln Ave., was taken into custody on a warrant for failure to appear out of Columbiana County after she appeared at the police station at 10:57 p.m. Wednesday believing there was a warrant for her arrest. A sheriff’s deputy took her to the county jail.

— A man on West Fourth Street reported at 10:46 p.m. Wednesday that a male he didn’t want on his property came to his doorstep and was harassing him. He didn’t want him coming back. An officer told the male that he’ll face criminal trespass if he returns.

— A woman in the 300 block of West Wilson Street reported at 9:17 p.m. Wednesday that she was not home but was told by neighbors that someone was in her residence. Officers located a vehicle in front of the residence and it was found to be her boyfriend, who has the same address.

— An officer at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday spoke with parents on Aetna Street about issues they’re having with their juvenile son.

— Police responded to the 800 block of Prospect Street at 8:01 p.m. Wednesday for a dispute between a landlord and resident, with the property owner harassing one of the tenants over past due rent money and who she was allowing inside her apartment room. The person who did not live there was told to leave and not return to avoid future altercations. The woman was told to call police if the harassment continues.

— Police were called at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday to the 1900 block of East State Street for juveniles throwing rocks at passing vehicles. Juveniles contacted by an officer said they were not the ones throwing rocks, that they were playing a game on their phones. They were told to stop if they were throwing rocks and to go home.

— A person came to the station at 4:43 p.m. Wednesday to report seeing a male known to him drive past a bus that had its stop signal out and was unloading children. An attempt will be made to contact the person.

— A man on North Madison Avenue reported at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday that his girlfriend took his cat from his home. Since there was no proof of ownership, officers told him he could fill out a statement which could be sent to the prosecutor for review, but he didn’t want to do that.

— A dispute was reported at 3:33 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of East Pershing Street where a resident said a relative came and caused problems in the back yard, allegedly getting into a physical fight with a resident there and assaulting him and threatening to burn down the house the next time he returned. He was not welcome to begin with and wasn’t found after walking away. The incident is under investigation.

— A spokesman for Little Caesars Pizza, 2955 E. State St., reported at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday that a customer over the weekend bought pizza with a counterfeit $50 bill.

— An empty beer keg was found on the sidewalk on East State Street and North Lincoln Avenue at 1:27 p.m. Wednesday and returned to the owner.

— Police checked on a possible stolen vehicle from Youngstown at 12:41 p.m. Wednesday on Continental Drive.

— A caller at 12:53 p.m. Wednesday requested officers check the welfare of a juvenile on Arch Street who has not taken a class this year. An officer spoke to her mother who said she was living elsewhere with an adult. She was told she’s still responsible for her daughter’s education and if there are behavioral issues to contact juvenile court.

— A bicycle found near the east doors of St. Paul School at 11:43 a.m. Wednesday was recovered and brought to the police station.

PERRY TWP.

— Police in the 1800 block of state Route 9 at 12:11 a.m. Thursday saw a work truck sitting at the rear of a business with the engine on and the lights blacked out, checking the vehicle and finding a male laying down inside. The man advised he owns the business and was waiting on a coworker. He was sleeping in the truck so he wouldn’t oversleep at home due to an important job he must do.

— Jacob Strader, 18, of Gavers Road, Hanoverton, was cited for license plate light and minor misdemeanor citations for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia related to marijuana after a traffic stop at 8:24 p.m. Wednesday on Newgarden at Liberty Street.

— Officers at 7:46 a.m. Wednesday noticed a black 2000 Jeep Wrangler parked in the woods off of Egypt Road near Painter Road. The doors were found unlocked with no person around it. The vehicle was not found to be stolen.

— Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Andrew Avenue regarding a dead on arrival complaint at 1:37 a.m. Wednesday when a man called to advise his wife was unresponsive. He told police he awoke to find that his wife was dead. Police entered the residence with the man who pointed at a blanket on the floor and said his wife was laying there dead. The report said police were confused due to the fact that nobody was laying on the floor where he was pointing. He was told nobody was there and realized that he was seeing things. He said his wife works midnights and must be working. Police checked the rest of the home, but did not locate anyone inside. Fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance also responded. It was later found that the man had been taking a new kind of medication and had been out of medication for a few days. He had also been consuming alcohol during the evening. The wife was confirmed to be at work and was contacted. The man refused to be checked out by medical personnel and had a friend stay with him until his wife could arrive home from work.

— Officers at 9:36 p.m. Tuesday found people parked on Egypt Road at Pine Lake Road. They advised they stopped to use the phone. They were warned that it was private property and sent on their way.

— A woman from the 3000 block of Georgetown Road reported a custody dispute with her ex-husband at 12:28 p.m. Tuesday. He has full custody and she was supposed to have visitation Tuesday afternoon, but he warned her not to come to his residence on Arch Street to pick them up because he would not be giving her visitation. She was told to contact her attorney.

— A resident in the 1200 block of West State Street reported at 7:44 p.m. Monday that unknown people were placing ladders on a vacant residence nearby and he was unsure if a burglary was taking place. Police spoke with the people on the scene who had the residence lit up with lights and were scraping paint off the house. The person said he’s the homeowner and was working on the residence to sell it. Due to time constraints, they needed to work at night. Police confirmed his identification as the owner.

— Ross Halstead Jr. reported being eastbound on the four-lane portion of U.S. Route 62 and having three deer cross in front of him at 6:55 p.m. Monday. He said he only clipped one of the deer, but none were found at the scene. The vehicle sustained minor damage to a headlight.

— Police were called at 4 p.m.. Monday to the 1800 block of Depot Road for a man who had fallen and could not get up. The fire department and KLG Ambulance had been toned out. When officers arrived, an elderly man was lying on the floor being treated by KLG. First responders were able to lift him off the floor and onto the couch.

LISBON

–Deb Weigle, England Drive, East Palestine, reported Wednesday her vehicle was vandalized while parked for 45 minutes in the county courthouse parking lot off South Beaver Street. She said someone used a sharp object to make three cuts in the windshield on the driver’s side.

COLUMBIANA

— At 10:35 a.m. Wednesday police issued a solicitor’s permit for Mark Posta of New Springfield, to sell frozen foods.

— Columbiana Ford reported at 6 p.m. Wednesday a service car had possibly been stolen. The matter is under investigation.
