Salineville man pleads guilty to drug charges

LISBON — Travis J. Riggs, 35, Monroeville Heights, Salineville, pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to illegal conveyance of a drug of abuse onto the grounds of a detention facility, tampering with evidence and two counts of possession of drugs. Two other charges for possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia from the indictment may be dismissed at the time of sentencing. He faces up to eight years in prison, a $25,000 fine and a five year license suspension. Sentencing is set for Jan. 5. Riggs had cocaine and hydrocodone on Jan. 21, which he tried to conceal from police.

Corey A. Snay, 22, South Union Avenue, Salem, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs and tampering with evidence. He is facing up to four years in prison, a $12,500 fine and a five-year license suspension. Sentencing is set for Dec. 19. Snay had a small container of methamphetamine on Aug. 26, drugs which he attempted to eat to keep police from discovering them.

Cory A. Poling, 21, Weirton, W.Va., pleaded guilty to possession of drugs for a trace amount of cocaine found on a digital scale in the passenger side door compartment where he had been seated on March 27, 2015. He faces up to a year in prison, a $2,500 fine and a five-year license suspension. Sentencing is set for Dec. 19.

Danny Boggs, 57, Goshen Road, Salem, pleaded guilty to two counts of obstructing justice and one count of resisting arrest. Sentencing was set for Dec. 19. He faces up to a year in prison and a $2,500 fine. On Dec. 22, 2015, Boggs told police his son was not home when they came to serve him with a warrant, then pulled away from police. The other charge of obstructing justice was to prosecutor’s information, which was not yet listed in court documents.
