SHERIFF’S OFFICE

— Peggy Peters asked deputies to check on her daughter, Betty Peters, Cream Ridge Road, Lisbon, at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies found the home to be vacant. Deputies called her boyfriend, Jason Anderson, who said Peters is fine and he would have her call on Thursday. Deputies spoke to her on Thursday morning and she told them she just does not want any contact with her mother.

— Steven Sancic, asked to have someone be removed from the worksite on County Home Road, Lisbon, at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies spoke to the foreman, who said the problem, which was a pay dispute, had been resolved and the employee was leaving the site.

— Mia Sheets, Carbon Hill Road, Negley, reported at 9:40 a.m. Thursday she is being harassed by someone she knows on Facebook, who is writing things there about her which are untrue and slanderous. Deputies told her it is a civil matter and she should contact an attorney.

— Jill Leipply, Unity Line Road, New Waterford, reported at 9:51 a.m. Wednesday she received a call from someone stating he is David James working for a collection agency and that she owes money. Leipply told deputies her identity was stolen in 2011 and she believes this may be related to that. Deputies called back and confirmed the collection agency has a case with Leipply’s name on it. She was told to contact her bank and an attorney.

— Shawna Purnell, state Route 164, Salem, reported at 10:06 p.m. Wednesday her ex-boyfriend was there causing problems and she wanted him removed, then she hung up on dispatchers and refused to answer the phone when they called back. Deputies went to the house and found it locked. No one would answer. Deputies found an unlocked door through the garage and entered the home to check on Purnell’s safety. After checking the house and finding no one, deputies saw Purnell walk into the house. She started yelling and cussing, claiming deputies had no right to be there in her house even if she was hurt and bleeding. She told deputies she had left to get cigarettes.

— Joelyne Rice, Hammondsville Road, Wellsville, reported at 6:24 p.m. Wednesday there were illegal hunters on her father’s property. Deputies and an ODNR officer found a suspected illegal hunter, Chris Wooley, on the property. The matter is being investigated by ODNR.

— Amy Perdue, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 8:26 p.m. Wednesday she let Seth Robinson borrow her blue 2001 Chevy Blazer at 4 p.m. on Tuesday and he was to return it at 7 p.m. She texted him throughout the evening asking him to return it and the last message he sent said he would bring it back when he wanted to. She filed to pursue a charge for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
