LISBON — Richard T. Lowe, also known as Young, 34, Cleveland, was sentenced Friday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to 33 months for tampering with evidence, two counts of possession of drugs and four counts of trafficking in drugs.

Lowe during the execution of a search warrant on Aug. 25, 2015 at a North Market Street apartment in Lisbon, placed a bag of drugs into the toilet and flushed it. On the same date, Lowe had heroin and cocaine prepared for sale, along with $928 intended for use in a drug-related offense.

Additionally, Lowe sold .93 gram of cocaine to a confidential informant for $150 on Feb. 27, 2015, and .4 gram of cocaine for $100 on March 3 the same year.

Prior to sentencing, Lowe and his defense attorney Steven J. Moody asked Judge Scott Washam to go along with the 33-month recommendation by Chief Assistant County Prosecutor John Gamble.

Lowe told Washam he recently had a family member die while he was incarcerated and has decided to try to get his life together. Lowe said he is tired of being in and out of courtrooms all the time.

In addition to the prison sentence, for which Lowe already has more than 200 days credit toward, Lowe was ordered to pay $5,000 in fines. The $928 was forfeited.
