POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

— Officers responded to a 200 block Rose Avenue home at 1:57 p.m. Wednesday where the residents reported hearing a noise in the attic and believed someone was hiding in the room. Officers were unable to find anyone in the house.

— Juliethdaniella Arango, 20, Franklin Avenue, Salem, was cited for no operator’s license, improper backing and leaving the scene of a crash after a patrolling officer at 3 p.m. Wednesday was flagged down in the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue where Arango allegedly backed into a parked vehicle then fled before stopping near East Pershing Street. No injuries were reported.

— A 1000 block North Ellsworth Avenue resident reported at 5:48 p.m. Wednesday receiving a phone call from someone claiming to work for a satellite television company who offered to fix a software problem and have the complainant send a check. The resident was advised it was a scam.

— An officer responded to an 1100 block East State Street business at 5:49 p.m. Wednesday where employees reported a female had stolen $17.07 in merchandise. The suspect was identified through the surveillance video and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

— Andrew D. Conner, 28, Alliance, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop at Jennings Avenue and West Second Street at 7:39 p.m. Wednesday in which he was a passenger and fled the vehicle on foot. He was apprehended following a short pursuit and a search of his person revealed a concealed holstered knife and drug paraphernalia. He was also found to have an active warrant out of the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 3:24 a.m. Thursday in reference to an older man who seemed confused. He was located and returned to his home where his wife said he was suffering from a prolonged medical issue.

— Officers responded to a 300 block Penn Avenue home at 7:32 a.m. Thursday where the resident said he had just moved in and now noticed several pieces of property missing. He said the people who helped him move may have taken the items.

PERRY TWP.

— An officer at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday observed a vehicle at a South Lincoln Avenue business with a damaged bumper and headlight. The driver said he struck a pole at his daughter’s house in Leetonia. He was advised he could not drive the vehicle in its condition and later walked from the scene.

COLUMBIANA

— Jason A. Ervin, 35, East Palestine, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the city at 11:44 p.m. Wednesday.

— Justin Hayhurst, 28, East Liverpool, was cited for driving under FRA suspension following a traffic on East Park Avenue at 3:57 p.m. Wednesday.

— Police spoke with a man at 1 p.m. Wednesday about a verbal argument in front of the post office.

LISBON

— Bill Blocksom, East Lincoln Way, reported Tuesday a .22-caliber Stevens bolt-action and ammunition was taken from his Jeep while it was parked outside his home.

— Police were called to the county mental health center at 11:44 a.m. Wednesday to stand by while a client was transported to a local hospital.

— Sherry Duke, Maple Street, called for police at 9:12 p.m. Wednesday to say she and her boyfriend began arguing over what they were watching on TV. Duke was intoxicated and she claimed her boyfriend was also drunk and high as well. The officer told them to stay away from each other for the rest of the night, and he also told Duke her boyfriend was not high or intoxicated.
