LISBON — Charges were dismissed in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court on Monday against an Operation Big Oak defendant, who has died since the indictment was issued. Thomas C. Wells, 52, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, had been facing a single charge of aggravated possession of drugs for alleged fentanyl.

Katie S. Buchanan, 32, 18th Street, Wellsville, was sentenced to three years community control for receiving stolen property. On Jan. 16, 2017, Buchanan took her brother’s credit card without his permission to make purchases at Rich Oil in Wellsville, Gibby’s Market in Wellsville and Giant Eagle in East Liverpool.

George D. Crooms, 42, Clarks Mill Road, Hammondsville, was found eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction and pleaded guilty to possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Crooms had oxycodone on April 21, 2017. Crooms was placed on a two-year intervention program.
