POLICE REPORTS

LISBON

— Police were called to a Sherman Street residence at 3:52 p.m. Thursday after an elderly man fell off the couch and was laying on the living room floor. The man said he was fine and just needed help getting up, but an ambulance crew was summoned to check him.

–Jeri Stanley, South Lincoln Avenue, reported Aug. 10 a metal frog and shepherd’s hook with a plant were stolen from her property.

–An official from McKinley Elementary School reported at 10:52 a.m. Tuesday a woman continues to park in the school lot in reserved spots even after notes were left on her car and she was even told personally not to do so. Police determined the vehicle was registered to Robin Frank, who lives across the street from the school on Pritchard Avenue. An officer spoke to her husband, Garry, who said his wife only parks there at night, which police pointed out was not true. Mr. Frank noted school was not in session, but the officer told him that does not matter because the school does not want them parking there at all. Mr. Frank asked where his wife was supposed to park and was told to have her park in the driveway behind their house. Police said if this it happens again the vehicle would be towed at the Franks’ expense.

SALEM

— An officer responded to a 700 block of Maple Street at 7:24 a.m. Thursday in reference to a small child lying in a yard. The officer spoke with a male individual found walking south on Franklin Street who said that he had been lying in a yard to rest and fell asleep while waiting for his girlfriend. He was found to 18 years old.

— An officer responded to a 600 block Olive Street home at 7:25 a.m. Thursday where the resident reported someone overnight had attempted to push a window air conditioning unit through a side window of the home. No entry was made, but the bushes outside the window were damaged.

— An officer responded to the 800 block of East Third Street at 11:45 a.m. Thursday where someone found a plastic baggy containing an unknown white substance. The item was returned to the station and disposed of properly.

— Officers responded to an 1100 block East Third Street home at 2:48 p.m. Thursday where the residents reported the neighbor had a BB gun and threatened to shoot the male resident. The neighbor left before officers arrived. The residents said they were arguing with the neighbor regarding the neighbor’s dog being in their yard and the neighbor possibly selling drugs.

— John Wayne Shasteen II, 35, state Route 9, Hanoverton, was charged with disorderly conduct after he interrupted an investigation of a child custody exchange dispute in the 600 block of West Wilson Street at 4:10 p.m. Thursday.

— An officer responded to a 1900 block East Pershing Street business at 4:54 p.m. Thursday where a patient reported a male individual had questioned him regarding his treatment of his nurse, who was the man’s mother. The patient said that although the man did not verbally threaten him, he felt threatened by the questioning.

— An officer responded to the area of Rose Avenue and East Third Street at 7:40 p.m. Thursday in reference to several juveniles lying in the roadway and yelling at passing vehicles. The juveniles reportedly entered a vacant building in the 900 block of East Third Street, but officers found the building secure and could not locate the juveniles in the area.

— An officer assisted Perry Township with a domestic dispute in the 1400 block of Garfield Avenue at 10:44 p.m. Thursday.

— Officers responded to a 400 block South Broadway Avenue home at 12:48 a.m. Friday where several young juveniles reported their parents were fighting upstairs. The parents said the dispute was verbal only.

GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT

— Steven Ray Miranda Jr., 22, North Lincoln Avenue, Alliance, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in the 16000 block of U.S. Route 62 at 4:06 p.m. Tuesday in which he was eastbound and traveled off the north side of the roadway, striking a mailbox and coming to rest in a ditch. No injuries were reported.

LEETONIA

— Justin Kelly, 31, Columbia Street, Leetonia, was arrested on an active warrant out of Boardman after an officer with knowledge of the warrant observed him entering the home at 8:29 p.m. Wednesday.

— Joshua R. Elerick, 23, Ridge Street, Leetonia, was charged with assault after officers responded to the 200 block of Main Street at 8:33 p.m. Thursday where a male individual reported Elerick had assaulted him at a business after he fired him earlier in the day and refused to give him is paycheck until payday. The victim was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital for treatment.
