POLICE REPORTS

PERRY TWP.

— At 12:57 a.m. Monday, police spoke with a complainant in the 1400 block of Garfield Avenue in reference to a theft of a firearm that occurred a few days before. The incident is under investigation.

— Police responded to Idaho Avenue at 8:47 p.m. Sunday for a report of a domestic dispute and police spoke to all parties and found nothing physical happened.

— At 5:43 p.m. Sunday, police responded to Grant Avenue for a report of a domestic dispute. It was verbal only.

— Police responded to East Pershing Street and Washington Avenue at 5:26 p.m. Sunday to assist Salem police in transporting arrestees. Police stood by but were unable to assist due to being dispatched to another call.

— Police responded to the 900 block of Jones Drive at 3:57 p.m. Sunday regarding a parking complaint and spoke to the owner of the vehicle and advised him to move it off the road.

COLUMBIANA

–Loretta A. Kendall, 80, of Ellwood City, Pa., was cited for failure to control after striking a vehicle driven by Michael D. Lyle, 38, of South Middle Street, while traveling on East Park Avenue at 4:38 p.m. Friday. Kendall went off the road, striking a utility pole, with the rear end of her vehicle swinging around and striking the front of Lyle’s vehicle. Kendall was taken to a local hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

–Kylie J. West, 18, of West Salem Street, reported Sunday her phone was stolen.

–A resident reported Sunday being scammed out of about $4,000 since June after entering into an online relationship with someone who misrepresented themselves to her.

–Police were called to a disturbance at Shellabella’s at 12:27 a.m. Sunday, with a David J. Brunner reportedly becoming belligerent after the staff quit serving him and Lonna Moraski because they were drunk. At some point, Moraski climbed on the bar and began dancing. When asked to get step down from the bar, Moraski started breaking glassware. Brunner acted confrontational while being questioned by police and continued to yell at the officers even after being told to calm down. Brunner then said he was going to film the proceedings, and police told him he was welcome to do so but he needed stop interfering with them as they tried to do their job. Brunner and Moraski were each charged with disorderly conduct and warned they would be charged with criminal trespassing if they returned to the restaurant.

LISBON

–Police were called to Apple Grove apartments at 5:11 a.m. Saturday when an elderly female resident reported someone was turning her door knob and knocking on her door. Police did not see anyone about.

–A caller reported a drunk man was walking on East Washington Street at 2:37 a.m. Thursday, and police found a man sitting on the doorsteps outside his home. The man said he had been drinking and was having problems with his girlfriend. The man said he was staying with his girlfriend’s parents and did not want to vomit inside. The man said he was fine and would go inside later.

–Police responded to several 911 hang-up calls from a Summit Street residence at 2:56 a.m. Saturday. No one answered when the officer called, nor did anyone answer the door when he showed up at the house. The lights were off, so the officer left.

–Police responded to a report of a crying girl sitting on the sidewalk outside the Circle K at 10:35 p.m. Saturday but she was gone when the officer arrived. He later came across a woman walking one street over and she said she was upset because she and her girlfriend had a fight over bullying by a mutual friend.

–Three split rail fence sections at Willow Grove Park were found thrown in the Middle Fork of the Little Beaver Creek on Friday

–Police responded to a possible 911 call from a West Pine Street residence at 8:37 a.m. Aug. 14 but the homeowner said no one there called and everything was fine, which the officer verified before leaving.

–Spencer Biser and Terri Earich, East Washington Street, reported Sunday finding a back door glass pane broken at 4:25 p.m. and they were only gone about a half hour. The door was still locked, so it did not appear anyone entered the home, and police searched the home and spoke to the neighbors, and no one saw anything. A football was found in the back yard and it my have caused the damage.

–Police were called to the BP station at 5:22 p.m. Friday after a woman driver pulled over because her 8-year-old autistic son was out of control and kicking and hitting her vehicle. The mother was 9-months pregnant and wanted her son to be evaluated but didn’t feel safe driving him somewhere. With her permission, an ambulance was called to transport the boy to a local hospital.

–Police were called to a domestic dispute on North Market Street at 8:18 p.m. Saturday, where Sarah Jakacki said Joshua Kirtley had just trashed her residence after accusing her of cheating. Jakacki just wanted Kirtley to leave. Kirtley, 36, of Follansebee, W.Va., was intoxicated and barely able to stand. He agreed to return to the police station to await a taxi, but when the taxi arrived, Kirtley left and went back to the residence, where he tried to get in his vehicle and then began arguing again with Jakacki. Police found Kirtley outside the residence and arrested him for disorderly conduct.
