SALEM

— Linda L. Netles, 70, Sutton, W.Va., was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign following a two-vehicle crash at Franklin Street and Southeast Boulevard at 8:05 a.m. Friday in which she was southbound and failed to yield at the stop sign, colliding with an eastbound vehicle driven by Maren N. Rankin, 25, East High Street, Leetonia. A passenger in Rankin’s vehicle was treated for injuries.

— A Salineville resident reported at 8:58 a.m. Friday a possible protection order violation in the 1200 block of Jennings Avenue. The complainant showed photographs of the person against whom she has the protection order trying to make contact with her. The matter is under investigation.

— Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at Southeast Boulevard and East State Street at 10:50 a.m. Friday in which Adam J. Richards, 30, Monroe, Mich., attempted to turn a semi trailer east off of Southeast Boulevard onto to East State Street and had to pull into the left turn lane due to the size of the vehicle. Kristen K. Kuhns, 28, East Pershing Street, Salem, pulled a vehicle up in the right hand turn lane and Richards’ trailer struck Kuhns’ vehicle. No injuries were reported and no citations issued.

— Officers responded to a medical emergency at a North Ellsworth Avenue location at 11:50 a.m. Friday. The person in question was evaluated by medical personnel but refused treatment.

— Officers responded with medical personnel to a medical emergency in the 1100 block of Benton Road at 1:03 p.m. Friday and stood by until the person in question was transported to the hospital.

— A patrolling officer at 1:24 p.m. Friday observed two people in a verbal dispute in the 300 block of Rose Avenue and found that they were former spouses arguing about a cell phone. The male individual agreed to leave.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 2:19 p.m. Friday in reference to a person attempting to purchase narcotics from strangers, but were unable to find the person.

— Officers responded to the Salem hospital at 2:55 p.m. Friday to assist staff with an irate patient and stood by until the patient had calmed down.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Eighth Street at 3:32 p.m. Friday where a resident said she had yelled at a passing driver to slow down and that the driver then drove past her home several times in a reckless manner.

— Officers responded to a 2400 block East State Street business at 3:43 p.m. Friday in reference to a suspicious person riding a bicycle who threw an object into the weeds next to the parking lot. Officers were unable to find the object.

— Officers responded to a 2800 block East State Street business at 4:37 p.m. Friday where customers reportedly left the store without paying for an item. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to a 100 block Sharp Avenue home at 6:39 p.m. Friday where a man reported the mother of his children would not turn them over to him for his court appointed visitation. The mother said she would not let the children go with their father because he had his girlfriend with him. She said the girlfriend had filed harassment charges against her and she did not want the woman on her property. The mother was advised she would be held in contempt of court if she refused to turn the children over and the father was advised of his options.

— Samantha R. Scyoc, 21, Pass Lane, Lisbon, was cited for a stop sign violation following a two-vehicle crash at North Lincoln Avenue and East Fifth Street at 6:57 p.m. Friday in which she was eastbound and failed to stop at the stop sign, striking a northbound vehicle driven by Robert D. Leonard, 71, Catawba Drive, Canfield. Leonard and his passenger were transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Boardman with unknown injuries.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of South Union Avenue at 7:02 p.m. Friday where a child had found a syringe on ground next to the sidewalk. The syringe was disposed of at the police station.

— A woman reported on station at 7:46 p.m. Friday that she had been taking photographs in a parking lot at North Lincoln Avenue and East Fifth Street when a group of people approached her and began using obscenities, although there were no threats made.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Euclid Street at 8:27 p.m. Friday in reference to the sound of a single gunshot. Officers were unable to find anything suspicious.

— Robert E. Chester, 47, East Wilson Street, Salem, was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication after officers responded to a 200 block West Wilson Street home at 9:58 p.m. Friday where he was attempting to enter to gather some belongings after he was warned earlier that evening to remain at home due to his intoxication. Medical personnel responded to treat him for injuries sustained by falling and he was transported home.

— Officers responded to a 900 block East Fourth Street home at 10:07 p.m. Friday where a neighbor reported a Halloween decoration was shining into their home, making it difficult for family members to sleep. The resident agreed to let the officers turn off the decoration.

— Two individuals flagged down a patrolling officer in the 100 block of East Third Street at 12:21 a.m. Saturday who said they were making a documentary about the living conditions of their residence and noted the landlord was attempting to rent out the top floor of the home without their consent. They said they wanted the matter documented.

— A Southeast Boulevard resident reported at 12:34 a.m. Saturday that she believes someone has been following her in a vehicle the past few weeks and wanted the matter documented.

Columbiana

— K-9 Csuti was deployed on a traffic stop for a vehicle sniff to assist the highway patrol at 11:01 p.m. Friday.

— Megan Watt, 40, East Palestine, was cited with driving under suspension at 6:21 p.m. Friday following a traffic stop on state Route 14.

Lisbon

— A drunk man was reported yelling and banging on a garage in an alley near North Jefferson Street at 3:04 p.m. Saturday. Police found John McLaughlin, who admitted he had been drinking, but claimed he did not bang on the garage door or yell. McLaughlin who was visiting his granddaughter and her fiance, was escorted back inside the home and warned about going outside when he is drunk and belligerent.

— Police responded to the Kendall House, state Route 154, Lisbon at 4:52 p.m. Friday, where a resident was reported being belligerent and not listening to the building counselor who was on the shift. A resident told police he was trying to use the Wi-Fi box to watch movies, and the counselor would not allow him. The counselor explained the box had to stay in the common area, so everyone in the building can use it. Police told the man to follow the rules if he wants to stay there. At 6:46 p.m. Friday police had to return due to the same man being belligerent, screaming at the counselor and allegedly making threats. The counselor had a video on her phone where both she and the man were yelling at each other. Two other residents claimed the man did not threaten the counselor, and she actually started it. Police suggested he stay in his room and keep to himself for the night.

— Someone at Valley View reported at 9:07 p.m. Thursday there was a black Honda SUV at Corner Auto Repair with the alarm repeatedly going off.

— A burglary alarm was sounding at the Consumers Bank on North Market Street at 11:10 p.m. Monday at the ATM. Police checked and secured all the entrances to the bank building. Everything was secured.
