Wellsville man pleads guilty to break-in attempts

LISBON — A Wellsville man who spent a night in March trying to break into several homes pleaded guilty to charges in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court. Jason A. Allen, 41, Chester Avenue, Wellsville, pleaded guilty to burglary and four counts of criminal damaging. Allen is facing up to two and a half years incarceration. Sentencing is set for Jan. 24.

On March 1, Allen trespassed in the home of Angela (Dolly) Brophey, Lincoln Avenue, Wellsville; and broke out windows or damaged door frames in the other area homes of Linda Morris, 15th Street; Kathy Mattern, 15th Street; Dana Arnette, Commerce Street; and Robert and Michael McGraw, Commerce Street.

Juan Anchondo, 31, Oyster Road, Alliance, pleaded guilty to failure to notify the sheriff of a change of address. He is facing up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine. Anchondo is required to register his address due to a conviction of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, but failed to do so on May 2 instead moving from his registered address on West Clark Street in East Palestine. Sentencing is set for Dec. 10.
