SHERIFF’S OFFICE

— Charlene McKnight, Fredricktown-Clarkson Road, Negley, reported at 12:57 p.m. Wednesday Frank Paul Wells came onto her property without permission. McKnight told deputies she had been in a land contract with Wells previously this past year, but since that time McKnight filed for bankruptcy. Wells reportedly is an interested party in the bankruptcy and the court has ordered there be no contact between them. McKnight said Wells did not get out of his vehicle, but did back his vehicle up the driveway. She believed he may be taking photos.

— Mary L. Doty, St. Jacob Logtown Road, Center Township, reported at 9:04 a.m. Wednesday, someone claiming to be with Columbiana County Municipal Court called and said she owed the court money for pending charges of malicious intent and theft. Doty took the caller seriously and paid $100 giving them her credit card number. Deputies explained no court or law enforcement agency will ever call demanding money in lieu of being criminally charged, the charges are fake and she should call her credit card company to cancel the card.
