SALEM FIRE

— No one was injured after a vehicle hit the front of the building at Kendrick’s Corner, 981 N. Ellsworth Ave., early Thursday morning, but the business was ordered to close by the fire chief pending a contractor or engineer deeming the building safe and secure. Firefighters were called to the scene at 5:08 a.m. for a vehicle into the building, but the vehicle had already been removed when they arrived. The driver was able to drive the vehicle from the scene. The fire department used caution tape to secure the front of the building. Police had been called when a vehicle pulled into the parking lot and the driver’s foot slipped off the brake, with the vehicle going into the front of the business. No citation was issued since the incident occurred on private property.
