POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

— Officers responded to a 900 block West Wilson Street home at 7:03 a.m. Sunday where the resident reported someone overnight had shot BBs at the back sliding glass door, shattering it. Multiple BBs were found on the ground near the door.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 9:05 a.m. Sunday in reference to a vehicle that had its passenger side window shattered. The vehicle’s owner said nothing was missing.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Arch Street at 10:08 a.m. Sunday in reference to a male individual possible selling narcotics. Officers spoke with the man in question who said he was just outside talking with his wife and son.

— A Hubbard resident reported at 12:34 p.m. Sunday a civil custody matter in which he did not have court ordered custody of the child nor had he been married to the child’s mother, who has full custody. He was advised to contact an attorney.

— An officer responded to the 200 block of East Sixth Street at 2:08 p.m. Sunday where a resident reported her vehicle had its passenger side window shattered. The resident said nothing was missing.

— A patrolling officer at 4:07 p.m. Sunday observed a female individual lay down in the roadway in the 800 block of East Pershing Street while a vehicle was approaching. The vehicle saw the person and stopped until she got up. The officer spoke with the person and found her to be a juvenile. She was turned over to her guardian and warned about the seriousness of her actions. She was advised that she could face charges if she does it again.

— Officers responded to a 28080 block East State Street business at 5:28 p.m. Sunday in reference to a male individual yelling at customers. Officers spoke with the man in question who said he knew the person he had yelled at. Officers stood by until the man’s ride arrived.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 8:32 p.m. Sunday where a resident reported the neighbors were being loud and obnoxious while drinking. The male individual involved had already left and officers advised the remaining people to keep the noise down.

— Cody A. Barham, 25, Rose Avenue, Salem, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop in the 900 block of East State Street at 10:59 p.m. Sunday in which the bicycle he was riding did not have the proper lighting. Additional charges are pending lab results of items found in his bag.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Cunningham Road at 2:48 a.m. Monday in reference to a person to be removed. The female individual had already left before officers arrived, but the complainant provided the license plate number and said the woman was not welcome back on the property. Officers located the woman and advised her not to return.

PERRY TWP.

— A Youngstown resident reported at 11:37 a.m. Friday that her ex-girlfriend had assaulted her at her place of employment in the 100 block of Georgetown Road, causing numerous injuries and possibly resulting in the loss of her job. She said she did not want to pursue charges, but wanted information about filing a protection order.

— A Conser Drive resident reported at 5:50 p.m. Friday that she and her son had filed a protection order against someone, but that the Stark County Sheriff’s Office had yet to serve the order and the person was still contacting her son by text messages.

— An officer observed a man and woman walking on the state Route 45 bypass at 9:17 p.m. Friday and they turned around and walked the other way when the officer turned around to speak with them. The officer stopped both of them on Benton Road at Florida Avenue and found two warrants against the man, but they were outside the pick up radius. The woman, identified as Dawn Johnson, 47, Salem, had two active warrants out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office including a felony indictment for possession of drugs and a misdemeanor for failure to appear for possession of a drug instrument. Johnson was taken into custody and turned over to a county deputy.

— Police responded to the intersection of Brittany Lane and Plymouth Place at 12:24 a.m. Saturday after someone reported seeing the stop sign struck by a vehicle. Police observed the sign in the roadway, removed it and contacted the street department so that the sign could be placed back in the ground. The complainant was unable to provide a license plate number of the vehicle that struck the sign.

— Police observed six juveniles on Cry Baby Bridge on Egypt Road at 12:53 a.m. Saturday and attempted to speak with them, but they fled eastbound.

— A Prospect Street resident reported at 12:10 p.m. Saturday that his ex-girlfriend was keeping his children from him during his scheduled visitation time. He was advised of his options with the courts.

— Police responded to a 1200 block West Perry Street home at 11:06 p.m. Saturday the resident reported his father has dementia and they had gotten into an argument regarding his father leaving the stove on, during which he was cut by his father’s nail. The father said everything was fine and the son said he did not wish to press charges and everything would be fine the rest of the night.

— Police responded to a noise complaint in the 1800 block of Newgarden Avenue at 11:23 p.m. Saturday and advised the resident to turn the music down.

— Police responded to the 1500 block of State Boulevard at 5:11 a.m. Sunday in reference to a tree down in the roadway and found live powerlines down with the tree. The Perry Township Fire Department and Ohio Edison were contacted to respond.

— Police responded to an apartment complex on Prospect Street at 9:54 p.m. Sunday for a report of illegal drug activity. Upon arrival the officer was unable to locate any illicit activities in the area. The information obtained was later forwarded to a detective.

— Police responded to the 800 block of Cunningham Road in reference to two cows in the roadway. Police could not find the cows and the owner was contacted regarding the issue.

LEETONIA

— An officer responded to a 400 block Somer Street home at 9:48 Saturday in reference to an active suicide threat. The parents reported their daughter was upset and had been cutting her wrists before leaving westbound in a vehicle. The daughter later contacted her parents and said she was at a truck stop near the Pennsylvania border and that she would tell police she had a firearm so they would shoot her; however, her cell phone showed she was in Alliance.

— An officer responded to a 200 Front Street home at 10:21 p.m. Saturday in reference to a suicidal woman. The woman said she was having troubles, but that she did not want to harm herself. The complainants, however, provided evidence to the contrary and the woman was advised to seek evaluation at a local hospital. When EMS arrived the woman voluntarily was transported to a hospital.

LISBON

— Sam Moore, Leetonia Road, Leetonia, reported his Jeep Cherokee was struck while parked at Numbers Brewery Friday night. The passenger-side fender, door, mirror and plastic over the rear passenger wheel were all damaged.

— Police responded to a disturbance at 426 N. Market St. at 12:22 a.m. Saturday, where a woman said her stepson huffs gasoline to get high and she is afraid he will set the house or garage on fire when he smokes cigarettes. The stepson refused to talk at first but eventually denied sniffing or drinking gasoline. He was doing nothing wrong, just sitting outside minding his own business. The woman said the stepson would stay if he took a shower and went to bed, and he agreed to do that.

— The Pennsylvania State Police asked the local police to see if a certain person lives at 426 N. Market St., at 10:25 a.m. Friday but he was not there.
