LISBON — In county Municipal Court, David M.L. Liptay, 18, state Route 14, Columbiana, was bound over to the grand jury on charges of failure to comply, grand theft auto, no license, reckless operation, a stop sign violation and speeding. Liptay allegedly was driving a stolen 1997 Chevrolet Camero on June 28, when he was spotted by Wellsville police at Rich Oil gas station. Instead of stopping for police, Liptay allegedly fled on state Route 7 and Clark Avenue at speeds above 60 mph, before spinning out and running from police.
Erik Herman Powell, 38, Mick Road, Wellsville, was fined $675, had his license suspended for a year, required attendance of a three-day counseling program and required 30 hours community service for OVI first offense and failure to control. A seat belt violation was dismissed.
Christine Lyn Schnader, 38, Akron, was fined $900, credited with 15 days in jail, sentenced to an additional five days in jail and had her license suspended for 180 days possession of drug abuse instrument, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and two counts of drug paraphernalia. In June Schnader had hypodermic needles, a spoon with brown residue and cigarette device in a bag with marijuana residue. In January she had a glass pipe commonly used for smoking meth.
Rebecca J. Ewing, 53, Vincent Boulevard, Alliance, was fined $300 and required 40 hours community service for hit skip and stop sign violation.
