— A 26-year-old West Washington Street man reported that while riding his bike on Monday he was stopped by a taller man who threatened to punch him in the face if he continued to ride by. Police went to the area and spoke to some people who said they were not sure who might have threatened him, but the man on the bike rides past on the sidewalk continuously and will just stop and stare at them. He also flipped them off. Police went back to the home at 214 W. Washington St., where the man told them he had just moved to town from Warren. He denied staring or flipping anyone off. Police told him to stay off the sidewalk and ride in other neighborhoods besides his own.

— Police were called to another West Washington Street residence at 8:17 p.m. Tuesday because the owner wanted a person staying there to leave. The man said he would have left if the caller had told him to.

— Jennifer M. McCarty, 33, Sherman Street, was cited after she struck a fire hydrant at the corner of Sherman Street and Garfield Avenue at 4:11 p.m. Tuesday.

— Misty D. Boyer, 40, of Amsterdam, backed into a vehicle operated by Clinton J. Chamberlain, 56, of Columbiana, while stopped in traffic at the intersection of Jerome and North Market streets at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday.


— Nancy J. Robertson, 57, Youngstown, was cited for right of way at intersections following a two-vehicle crash on Western Reserve Road at state Route 46 at 3:03 p.m. July 2 in which she was eastbound in the left turn lane and then pulled into the eastbound lane, striking another eastbound vehicle driven by Joseph Alfred Butterfield, 42, Cranberry, Pa. No injuries were reported.

— Jeremy E. Minor, 34, Jennings Avenue, Salem was charged with OVI following a traffic stop at state routes 165 and 45 at 3:43 a.m. July 4.

— Mark Fraser Jr., 45, Goshen Road, Salem, was charged with domestic violence and assault after officers responded to his residence when a neighbor reported seeing him strike a female victim and threaten to shoot the neighbor. The victim had visible marks around her neck.

— Anthony Angiuli, 36, state Route 46, Canfield, was charged with obstructing official business, fleeing and eluding, reckless operation, speeding (76/45), no registration and failure to obey a traffic control device following a pursuit and crash in Green Township at 12:15 a.m. July 7 in which he was driving a recreational off-road vehicle and failed to stop after an officer initiated a traffic stop for speeding and a red light violation on Western Reserve Road at state Route 46. The officer pursued the vehicle and struck the rear of it when Angiuli slowed to make a turn, causing the vehicle to overturn. Green Township first responders arrived, but no injuries were reported. Angiuli’s passenger, Jill M. Tamburino, Washingtonville Road, Canfield, was cited for open container in a motor vehicle.


— An officer assisted the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office at 1:18 a.m. Tuesday on an incident in the 800 block of South County Line Road in which a resident reported hearing noises in the woods. The officers were unable to find anyone in the area.

— An officer responded to the 300 block of Columbia Street at 11:41 a.m. Tuesday in reference to a female in medical distress. Leetonia EMS arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital.

— A West Main Street resident reported on station at 12:17 p.m. Tuesday problems with his landlord shouting at him. The resident was escorted back to his home to retrieve his wallet. The landlord was advised how to evict the resident.

— Bryce A. Dodson, 24, Gig Harbor, Wash., was cited for soliciting without a permit and obstructing official business after an officer responded to the Ridge Street area at 1:44 p.m. Tuesday in reference to two males soliciting door-to-door. The officer warned him to stop until he obtained a permit. The officer then responded to Waddell Street at 2:16 p.m. where he was still soliciting door-to-door and refused to say who the other person was, even though he was communicating with the person via cell phone.
