— Rory L. Altman, 46, of Youngstown, was cited for driving under suspension and taken into custody on an arrest warrant out of the county sheriff’s office following a traffic stop on West Park Avenue at 6:18 p.m. Thursday. She was also cited for marijuana possession.

— Leyland R. Burnip, 26, West Park Avenue, reported Wednesday his apartment was broken into while he was at work. Stolen were his wallet, a jar of change, two pairs of Michael Jordan shoes and a handgun. Burnip found bologna on the TV stand that was not there before and he wonders if it was put there to distract his dog.


— An officer responded to a Pearl Street home at 6:12 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a female having suicidal thoughts and hearing voices. The woman was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

— An officer responded to a Somer Street home at 10:09 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a verbal dispute. The resident said her son’s 18-year-old girlfriend had been in an argument with her mother who wanted her to come home, but that the mother left without incident.

— An officer responded to the area of Pine Street and Coal Alley at 10:36 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a loud explosion or possible gunshot. Several witnesses in the area said they heard the noise and one resident reported possible damage to her home, although the officer could not see any. The officer searched the area but could not find anything suspicious.


— Trew A. Seeton, 31, Wadsworth, was cited for driving under suspension and speeding following a traffic stop on Fifth Street at Barber Street in Beloit at 7:32 p.m. July 12.

— Scott Eric Blanton, 47, Mogadore, was charged with OVI, driving under suspension and failure to use a turn signal following a traffic stop on Main Street at Eighth Street in Beloit at 1:13 a.m. July 13.

— Gerald A. Jackson, 35, Washington St., Washingtonville, was cited for failure to control and a seatbelt violation following a one-vehicle crash in the 38000 block of Salem-Unity Road at 5:47 a.m. July 14 in which he was westbound and traveled of the south side of the roadway into a ravine. He was transported by Green Township EMS to the Salem hospital for minor injuries.
