SALEM

– An officer responded to a 700 block North Ellsworth Avenue home at 12:06 p.m. Thursday where the resident reported someone overnight had taken the trash can off the front porch.

– An officer responded to a 500 block East Sixth Street home at 12:13 p.m. Thursday where the resident asked about dealing with tree limbs on a tree that does not belong to him hanging onto his property. He was advised to speak with his neighbor, but was permitted to trim the limbs so long as it did not damage the tree.

– An officer responded to a 200 block South Ellsworth Avenue business at 12:45 p.m. Thursday where the employees reported a female walking around the parking lot and looking into vehicles earlier that morning. They were advised to always lock their doors.

– Officers responded with medical personnel to a 900 block Franklin Avenue home at 1:52 p.m. Thursday in reference to a female who possibly needed medical attention. The female refused medical treatment and was assisted into her home. The inside of the home was found to be in deplorable conditions and adult protective services was advised of situation.

– An 1100 block South Lincoln Avenue resident reported at 2:33 p.m. Thursday an ongoing problem with a neighbor at all hours of the day and night. The resident requested extra patrol.

– Officers responded to a 700 block Southeast Boulevard home at 6:11 p.m. Thursday where a resident reported he was in the process of moving out and his roommate refused to let him gather his belongings. The roommate let the complainant gather his belongings with officer supervision. Both individuals were told any discrepancy in ownership of items would have to be settled in civil court.

– Officers responded to a 200 block Vine Avenue home at 6:21 p.m. Thursday where someone reported a female had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, but had already left due to having a warrant for her arrest. No investigation could be conducted without the victim.

– Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Third Street at 6:32 p.m. Thursday in reference to a suspicious female looking into a vehicle. Officers were familiar with the female and advised her of the complaint. She was warned to stay away from other’s property.

– Officers responded to an 1100 block South Lincoln Avenue home at 6:36 p.m. Thursday in reference to harassment and found a male having chest pains. Medical personnel arrived but the male refused to be transported to the hospital.. The officers spoke with individuals on scene regarding the harassment complaint and the matter was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

– Officers responded to a 100 block West State Street business at 7:38 p.m. Thursday where an employee reported her ex-boyfriend had shown up at the business. The ex-boyfriend said he just wanted to talk to the complainant. He was advised to leave the property for the night.

– Officers responded to a 400 block South Union Avenue at 8:19 p.m. Thursday in reference to a domestic dispute and found that the resident, who had let her daughter and juvenile grandson stay at the residence, had been yelled at by the grandson and the daughter did nothing to stop it. The daughter said the mother started the incident and the grandson had left the home. They were advised to stay away from each other the rest of the night.

– Tricia A. Watson, 35, East Third Street, Salem, was cited for misdemeanor counts of disorderly conducts, resisting arrest and escape after officers responded to a 900 block Jones Drive home at 8:26 p.m. Thursday where the resident wanted her removed and found her shouting obscenities at the complainant. Watson failed to comply with orders to stop, then resisted arrest. Once in custody she slipped a cuff and attempted to get away. She was placed in the back of cruiser, at which time she complained of medical issues. She was transported by medical personnel to the Salem emergency room and then to the county jail when she was released.

– Ariel L. Durham, 30, Spillway Road, Lisbon, was arrested on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for receiving stolen property after officers responded to a bar in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 9:55 p.m. where she had previously been told not to return.

– Officers responded to the area of North Lundy Avenue and East Third Street at 10:23 p.m. Thursday in reference to a vehicle striking a street sign then leaving the area. The suspect vehicle was found parked at a 900 block East Third Street home and matched the damage to the street sign, however the owner could not be contacted. The matter is under investigation.

– Officers responded to a 200 block North Union Avenue home at 12:17 a.m. Friday where the resident reported her juvenile son was having behavior issues. The son was advised of the rules he has to follow until he is 18 years old and the mother was advised how to file unruly juvenile charges.

– Officers responded to a 400 block Sharp Avenue home at 1:24 a.m. Friday in reference to a burglary in progress. Officers found no one inside and no signs of suspicious activities. The residents were advised the noise they heard may have come from the adjoining duplex apartment.

– Officers responded to a 1700 block East State Street business at 2:56 a.m. Friday where an employee reported a male pedestrian attempting to use the drive thru window who became irate when told he could not. Officers were unable to find the suspect.

– Officers responded to the area of Southeast Boulevard and South Madison Avenue at 3:49 a.m. Friday where a motorist reported a male had thrown flowers at her car while she drove past his residence. The male was found to be gardening and although he denied throwing the flowers, he admitted to calling her derogatory names. Officers stood by until the situation was resolved.

– An 1100 block Maple Street resident reported at 8:39 a.m. Friday two gaming consoles had been stolen from her home earlier that week. The matter is under investigation.

– A 400 block East School Street resident reported at 10:01 a.m. Friday that he is being harassed by a family member who is telling other family members stories about him. He was advised that nothing illegal occurred. He then requested information about obtaining a protection order.

– Officers responded to the 100 block of West Fourth Street at 11:23 a.m. Friday in reference to a juvenile in the roadway and located the juvenile near the intersection of West Third Street and North Howard Avenue. The juvenile was advised to stay out of the roadway and a parent was advised of the issue.

– Officers responded to a 400 block Continental Drive apartment at 11:25 a.m. Friday where a resident reported she believes she is being harassed by the landlord and other tenants She also complained of a neighbor’s dog barking continuously when inside the residence. She was advised how to deal with the situations.

– Officers responded to the 2400 block of Oak Street at 1:48 p.m. Friday in reference to an elderly female who went for a walk. The female was found and returned to her home.

– Officers responded to Centennial Park at 3:51 p.m. Friday in reference to suspicious activity by juveniles. Officers spoke with the juveniles and did not find anything suspicious.

– Officers responded to the 200 block of Cunningham Road at 4:16 p.m. Friday where someone reported a bird that appeared to be a pet or injured was sitting in a parking lot. Upon arrival the officers found the bird had flown onto a roof.

– An officer responded to an animal complaint in the 1100 block of East Third Street at 4:42 p.m. Friday and found no chickens in the shed, but a basket of chicks in the basement. After researching the issue, the officer determined the basket of chicks were not allowed to be within the distance they were with neighboring residences. The officer was unable to contact the owner and the matter was referred to a later shift.
