Salem man pleads guilty to child sex charges

LISBON — In Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, Alexzander Jones, 22, North Howard Avenue, Salem, pleaded guilty to disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, tampering with evidence, two counts of importuning and two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, all felonies, for incidents involving juveniles ages 13 and 15 last year and this year.

Jones will face sentencing Jan. 14 on the charges which said he engaged in sexual conduct with a 13-year-old from Nov. 1, 2020 through Jan. 12, 2021, solicited sex from a 15-year-old from Nov. 1, 2020 through Jan 12, 2021, solicited sex from a 13-year-old on Dec. 7, 2020, sent a naked photo to a 15-year-old on Nov. 24, 2020, and tried to destroy or alter evidence on Jan. 12, 2021.

Jesse Schisler, 36, Franklin Avenue, Salem, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property for possessing a GMC Yukon belonging to James Howard Miller on Aug. 5. Sentencing has been transferred to the court of Judge Megan Bickerton.

Marvin Harsch, 32, Warren, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, with sentencing set Feb. 7, for an incident that occurred on April 2.

Megan Clifton, 39, Vienna, was sentenced to six months in prison for possession of drugs after violating her probation and having community control dishonorably terminated. The term is to be served at the same time as a current sentence out of Trumbull County.

Steve Colian, 42, Prospect Street Extension, Salem, was placed on three years community control during sentencing for a felony domestic violence charge for attempting to harm Deanna Moschella on Jan. 13. The charge was a felony due to a previous conviction for domestic violence.

Community control was continued for Luke Maola, 36, East Liverpool, after a probation violation on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs , with six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center ordered.

Community control was continued for Donald Owens, 46, Washingtonville, after a probation violation for a charge of aggravated possession of drugs , with six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center ordered.

Community control was continued for Benjamin Cronin, 42, Hammondsville, after a probation violation for a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, with six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center ordered.

In Common Pleas Court Wednesday, Lindzay J. Beaver, 40, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, for causing physical harm to a household member on Jan. 10. She was sentenced to a term at the Eastern Ohio Correctional Center and three years probation.

Matthew J. Campanelli, 46, Salem, stipulated to violating terms of community control and had his probation terminated

Logan P. Stewart, 26, Salem, stipulated to violating terms of treatment plan and ordered to remain under the plan

Eric L. Jordan, 43, Salem, pleaded guilty to possession of Fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony. He faces up to 12 months in jail, a $2,5000 fine and a five-year driver’s license suspension
