Annabelle Chamberlain

LISBON – Annabelle Chamberlain, 81, of Lisbon, died at 6:50 a.m. Saturday at the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness.

Mrs. Chamberlain was born Feb. 21, 1931 in Lisbon, a daughter of the late George and Mary Mae (Bush) Smith, and had lived her entire life in the area.

She was a homemaker and member of the Lisbon Trinity Friends Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She had also attended the New Waterford Methodist Church in her younger years.

Survivors include her husband, Edward B. Chamberlain, whom she married Sept. 2, 1950; two sons, Steve (Marilyn) Chamberlain of Salem and Jon (Pam) Chamberlain of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Phyllis Smith Selman of Toronto; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides by her parents, Annabelle was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie L. Chamberlain; grandson, Todd Slagle; and sisters, Ethel Chamberlain and Mildred Booth.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lisbon Trinity Friends Church, 33937 U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, with Rev. Richard Jones of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Lisbon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
