Sara L. (Sunderman) Hippely
LISBON – Sara L. (Sunderman) Hippely, 86, of Lisbon, formerly of Salem, died at 8:58 p.m. Monday at Hospice House in Poland where she had resided for a day.
Born Oct. 25, 1926, in St. Mary’s, W. Va., she was the daughter of the late Howard and Mary (Berkhiemer) Sunderman.
Mrs. Hippely was a homemaker and a former member and co-founder of Southeast Friends Church. She had been a secretary for 37 years of the Friends Yearly Meeting.
She is survived by a son, Dan M. (Margie) Hippely of Lisbon, with whom she made her home; siblings, Margaret Helmick and Nancy Lewis of Salem, Virginia Hull of Lisbon and Leo (Betty) Sunderman of Hanoverton; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death Jan. 15, 2002, by her husband, James E. Hippely, whom she married March 21, 1945; and a son, Richard.
A time of visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral Home in Salem. The services will immediately follow at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
