Ronald E. Dunham

EAST PALESTINE – Ronald E. Dunham Jr., 60, of Alice Street, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday at the Salem Community Hospital where he had been a patient for the past three weeks.

He was born Jan. 20, 1953 in Beaver Falls, Pa., a son of Mary Lou Moore Dunham Shafer and the late Ronald E. Dunham Sr., and had resided in East Palestine for the past 32 years, coming from Darlington, Pa. He had been employed with Joe Dickey Electric, North Lima as a tool manager, and mechanic, for 26 years, retiring in 2011.

He had attended the Centenary United Methodist Church.

In addition to his mother of Negley, he leaves his wife, the former Pam Schellenger, whom he married July 26, 1980; one son, Jonathan W. Dunham, at home; a brother, Danny (Nancy) Dunham of Darlington, Pa; and three sisters, Sandy Noel of Negley, and Connie (Carl) Rosenbaum and Misti Martin, both of East Palestine. Ron also leaves two step-brothers, Joe Dunn of Boardman and Jeff Dunn of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two step-sisters, Robin Hays of Illinois and Lisa Williams of Columbiana.

A son, Ronald E. “Dude” Dunham III, preceded him in death in 2003.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Centenary United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark McTrustry of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
