David Edward Ondrejko

LISBON – David Edward Ondrejko, 62, of state Route 517 died in the emergency room at Salem Community Hospital Sunday.

Born July 3, 1950 in Zanesville, he was a son of the late Edward F. and Lelia V. (Moore) Ondrejko-Cameron.

Dave worked for D.W. Dickey/Hilltop Energy for 41 years, retiring July 2012. He started as an explosives crew member and worked his way to a blaster and site manager.

A Vietnam veteran, he served with U.S. Army Company B, 1st Bn., 2nd Inf., 4th Inf. Division earning a Bronze Star with Valor while in Vietnam during1969 and 1970.

He is survived by his wife, Amy L. (Ewing) Ondrejko, whom he married Feb. 22, 1974; a daughter, Jillian (MalVerne) Inniss of Charleston, S.C., and four grandchildren. Oher survivors include brothers Wayne of Lebanon, Ohio, Daniel of Lakewood, Col., and Robert of Howland; sisters, Joyce Stepien of Wichita, Kan., Cinde Martinelli of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Mary Anna Ondrejko of Huxley, Iowa.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Pamela Gable officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
