Richard K. Powers

NEW WATERFORD – Richard K. Powers, 60, of My Way Lane, died early Monday afternoon at the Oakwood Medical Center in Dearborn, Mich., shortly after admission.

Born Oct. 30, 1952, in Frankfurt, Germany, he was the son of Maria Reinehardt Powers and the late George Washington Powers.

Mr. Powers was a freight hauler, having driven for PGT Trucking for over 30 years.

In addition to his mother of East Palestine, he leaves his wife, the former Cynthia Ray, whom he married June 1, 1971; two sons, Richard E. (Tina) Powers of Hanoverton and Roger S. (Chrissie) Powers of Mount Sterling; a daughter, Anna (Broc) Doran of New Waterford; seven grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Diane) Powers of Beaver, Pa.; and two sisters, Elfreda Powers and Kay Toronzo, both of East Palestine.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home in East Palestine (www.oliver-linsley.com) with Greg Hawkins of the East Palestine Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the time of service on Saturday.
