Hugh Malcom Trainor
EAST PALESTINE – Hugh Malcom Trainor, 85, of East Palestine, died March 26 at his home.
Born June 13, 1927, in West Leyden, N.Y., he was the son of Alexander Winfield Trainor and Elizabeth Janet “Bessie” Logan Trainor.
Mr. Trainor was a World War II veteran. A private pilot, he retired from U.S. Air, Pittsburgh, as an aircraft mechanic.
In 1956 he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and continued as a member of the East Palestine Congregation until his death.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mabel Betsinger Trainor; seven sons and daughters, Michael (Deborah) of Indiana; Cynthia (Randall) Crill of Tennessee, Melissa (Joseph) Stevens of New York, C. Lauri (Kevin) Owens and Nanette (Keith) Owens, all of Ohio, Nathan (Jill) of Virginia and Benjamin (Tammy) of West Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth of West Leyden, N.Y.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 700 Brookdale Ave., East Palestine.
