SALEM – Olga Hrvatin, 88, of Salem died at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Blossom Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born Nov. 30, 1924 in Butler Township, Ohio, the daughter of the late Peter and Zuzana (Zachar) Duda.
Olga had worked for Park’s Floral, Farmer’s National Bank and McCullough’s. She was a 1942 graduate of Salem High School and a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Salem. She was also a member of the C&C Card Club, United Commercial Travelers Auxiliary and the Goshen Grange.
She was an avid bowler and enjoyed bingo.
Her husband, John Hrvatin, whom she married Aug. 22, 1948, preceded her in death Dec. 18, 2010. Two brothers also preceded her in death, Peter Duda and Zeno Duda who died during WWII.
Survivors include two sons, Ron (Carol) Hrvatin of Salem and Scott Hrvatin and fiancee, Kea Fediaczko of Mt. Holly, N.C.; a daughter, Karen (Kevin) Penner of Salem; a sister, Irene Benedict of Janesville, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Jan (Brian) Ostarchvic of Salem, Jayme (Bob) Minutoli of Orlando, Fla., Stacey (Nick) Blunt of Manhattan, Kan., and Matt Hrvatin of Charleston, S.C.; and three great-grandchildren, Sofia and Jack Minutoli and Marin Ostarchvic.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Salem with Pastor Alan Smearsoll officiating. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
