Betty Sue Ousley Stewart

Salem – Betty Sue Ousley Stewart, 70, of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, May 21 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Risner, KY on April 2, 1943, the daughter of the late Alonzo and Rebecca Allen Ousley.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 131 Aux. in Leetonia and actively worked there for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, James E. Stewart, whom she married Feb. 16, 1990; four children, Janet (Joe) Watson of Charlotte, NC, Andy (Laura) Ousley of Florida, Teresa Adams (Jim Smith) of Columbiana and Timothy Ousley of Kentucky; five stepchildren, Carrie, Brian, Dan, Christine and Ann all of Ohio; five brothers and sisters, Louise Traxler, Albert Ousley, Ancil Ousley all of Mansfield, Denver Ousley and Shirley Francis both of Kentucky.

She was a loving and caring grandmother to 11 beautiful grandchildren and great grandmother to 10 wonderful great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Roger Dale Ousley; two sisters, Avinell (Sis) and Virginia Mae Ousley and a granddaughter, Sharee Ousley.

Pastor Kari Lankford will be officiating at a short memorial service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home in Leetonia. For those wishing to offer words of hope and condolences, friends may call one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Leetonia.

The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Betty’s honor to the Hospice of the Valley at 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
