John C. Heffner

EAST PALESTINE – John C. Heffner, 28, of Jimtown Road died at 7:31 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman Campus after becoming ill at home.

Born Oct. 12, 1984, in Salem, he was the son of Teresa Turner Heffner Cunningham and the late Charles R. Heffner.

Prior to becoming disabled, had been employed as a manager and a meat cutter with the Sparkle Market in East Palestine.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Teresa and James Cunningham, with whom he resided; a brother, Marcus (Dawn) Turner of East Palestine; a sister, Sierra Turner at home; and his grandparents, Robert and Colleen Turner of Florida and Neva Heffner of Wellsville.

A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home ( with Mark Blakely, officiating.

Friends will be received for two hours on Monday prior to the service.
