Violet L. Bowman
SALEM – Mrs. Violet L. Bowman, 88, of Mountz Road passed away at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, June 8 at her residence.
Violet was born Nov. 11, 1924 in Lisbon, a daughter of the late Thomas and Flossie Bell McGeehen, and was a life resident of the area. She had attended business college, and had been employed with Wright-Patterson, Dayton, and retired from Warren Molded Plastics in 1987.
She was a member of the New Garden United Methodist Church, the Hanoverton Town & Country Garden Club, and the Farm Bureau.
Her husband, Franklin G. Bowman, preceded her in death on March 18, 2009.
She is survived by nine children including James, George, David, D. Paul, Larry, June, Patricia, Mary, and Karen; 27 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Helen Sokoloss and a brother, John McGeehen.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home, Lisbon, with Pastor Ted Ludwig of the Bethel United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the time of service at the funeral home.
