Waneda J. Spencer

ALLIANCE – Waneda J. Spencer, 86, of Alliance, passed away Thursday at Alliance Community Hospital.

She was born March 27, 1927 in Chapel, W. Va., the daughter of the late William H. and Mable L. (Case) Carpenter. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church but attended Truth Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two daughters, Rebecca J. “Beckie” (Roger) Schillig of Garrettsville, Ohio, and Deborah J. Spencer of Alliance; three sons, William Robert “Bob” (Brenda) Spencer of Salem, Milton Earl (Kim) Spencer of Salem and Raymond Eugene (Ruth) Spencer of Alliance; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Linda Carr of Kensington and a brother Otha Carpenter of Alliance. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Raymond “Pete” on July 14, 1988, and a grandson.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Roy Teague and Pastor James White. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and the hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Atwater Cemetery.
