William Davis Bleigh

LISBON – William Davis Bleigh, 89, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday at his home.

Born April 27, 1924, in Walkersville, W.Va., he was a son of the late Ballard Scott and Valley Belle (Blake) Bleigh.

Mr. Bleigh worked as a service supervisor for Columbia Gas for more than 31 years, retiring in 1983. A Navy veteran, he served aboard the USS Cleveland in the South Pacific during World War II. In addition, he served a year in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a member of the Beaver Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Shirley Ann (Shaw) Bleigh, whom he married Feb. 14, 2002; his daughter Sheila Bleigh of Lisbon; stepsons Terry and Mark Walker, both of East Liverpool; and eight half brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Lucille (Keyes) Bleigh in 1984.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Weber Funeral Home with Herman McHan officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
