Danielle Grim

SALEM – Danielle Grim, 16, of Salem, passed away peacefully at her home on July 16, 2013, after a two-year battle with bone cancer.

She was born Nov. 27, 1996, in Salem, the daughter of Phillip “Dan” and Shari Grim.

Prior to her illness, Danielle loved to play volleyball at Western Reserve High School and with the Mahoning Valley Thunder traveling team. She ran track, cheered and was a member of the choir at Western Reserve. She was a member of Fun Time Cloggers and previously danced with Judy Conti Dance Studio.

She loved her cats, creating works of art, swimming, camping and cookouts with her family. She will always be remembered for her smile and happy personality.

She will be dearly missed by her parents Phillip “Dan” and Shari; her two sisters, Siara (Jason) Garland and Raquel Rushwin; her grandparents, John and Sarah Miller and Edna Grim; two nephews, Bryce and Blake Garland; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Danielle was preceded in death by her grandfather, Phillip “Bub” W. Grim; and cousin Phillip J. Grim.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, and again from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 22, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at Our Lady of the Lakes/St. James Catholic Church in North Jackson.
