Clyde Lawrence McVay

LISBON – Clyde Lawrence McVay, 76, of Trinity Church Road, died at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday in the emergency room at Salem Community Hospital.

Born June 15, 1937, in Lisbon, he was the son of the late Gale and Treasa (Homan) McVay.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. McVay worked for Center Township.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 56 years, Lillian (Bowles) McVay, whom he married Aug. 16, 1957; a daughter, Tina (McVay) Ketchum of Salem; three sons, Donald F. McVay of Florida, Jody L. McVay and Albert J. McVay, both of Lisbon; a sister, Alma McVay of Warren; two brothers, Patrick McVay and Gale McVay Jr., both of Salineville; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Wesley, John, Clyde Jr., and Timothy McVay, and a daughter, Rebecca McVay.

A graveside memorial service for the family will be held at 11a.m. Monday at the Lee Cemetery in Lisbon.

Arrangements were handled by the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home.
