James C. Rambo

COLUMBIANA – James C. Rambo, 75, died Saturday morning after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born Jan. 10, 1938, in East Palestine, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Mildred (Mansell) Rambo.

Mr. Rambo worked as a supervisor for Kaiser Aluminum, later called National Refractories, for over 40 year until the plant’s closure, then drove truck for D&V Trucking and Agland Co-Op Trucking of Alliance. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960.

Survivors include his wife, Jane (Rosenbaum) Rambo, whom he married Feb. 28, 1957; a daughter, Heather Alvario of Maryland; a son, Travis (Kelly) Rambo of East Palestine; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; three sisters, Jean Rapp and Martha Mackall, both of Columbiana and Peg Howell of Ashland; and a brother, Robert Rambo of Salem.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the New Waterford Cemetery Chapel with Chuck Hamilton officiating.

As per his wishes, there will be no calling hours.

Arrangements were handled by the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana.
