Sander R. Kerestes
EAST PALESTINE – Sander R. Kerestes, 90, of Highland Avenue, died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday at Essex III of Salem.
Mr. Kerestes was born March 4, 1923 in Enon Valley, Pa., a son of the late Kerestly and Barbara Ault Kerestes.
Prior to his retirement, he had been a self-employed heavy equipment operator, working in the coal mines of Tennesse and Kentucky, until his retirement several years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II, and had attended Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Donna Marie McKee, whom he married May 5, 1956; three daughters, Lorraine Kolar of East Lake, Maureen (Garrett) Kerestes-Russell of Hollywood, Fla., and Christine (Don) Filip of Austintown and a grandson.
A funeral service will not be observed. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, www.oliver-linsley.com.
