Edmund G. “Peanut” Carlariello
SALEM – Edmund G. “Peanut” Carlariello, 81, of Salem, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Salem Community Hospital.
He was born Aug. 31, 1932, in Salem, Ohio, a son of the late Peter Carlariello and Elizabeth (Morelli) Carlariello Wyszynski.
Mr. Carlariello was a lifelong area resident and retired in 1994 as a supervisor at the Eljer Company. He was a 1951 graduate of Salem High School and a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church. Before his illness, he was an usher and senior altar server. He was also a member of K of C and a lifetime member of Salem Elk Lodge #305.
Mr. Carlariello served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
His wife, Ethel (Dimko) Carlariello, whom he married Aug. 25, 1956, survives him along with a daughter, Lori A. Johnson of Salem; two grandsons, Jim Johnson of Winter Park, Fla. and Alec Johnson of Salem; and a brother, John Carlariello of Salem.
A brother, Henry Carlariello, also preceded him in death.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at the St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Robert Edwards officiating.
Calling hours will be held Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with a K of C Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be at the Grandview Cemetery in Salem with military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.
