Daniel E. Crawford
DAYTON – Daniel E. Crawford, 83, formerly of Salem, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, in Dayton, Ohio.
He was born on May 27, 1930, in Canton, Ohio, the son of the late John Samuel and Sylvia (Boyd) Crawford.
He graduated from Salem High School (Class of 1948) and University of Cincinnati.
Dan will always be remembered as being a very hard worker. He served in the United States Army 1951-1953, being honorably discharged as a 2nd lieutenant. For 30 years he was employed by Dow Chemical in Cleveland and Strongsville, Ohio, and Fresno, Calif. He worked first as an industrial engineer, and retired in 1986 as an economic planning engineer.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Audrey (Anderson) Crawford, in Dayton, Ohio; sister, Linda Crawford of Lexington, Ky.; daughters, Cheryl (Jeff) Long of The Woodlands, Texas; Vicki (Mike) Stebner of Beavercreek, Ohio; Christine (Daryl) Lawson of Medina, Ohio; son, Scott (“Randy”) of Parma, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and lifelong dear friend, Bill Urbanowicz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Everett Crawford, in 1983.
Anatomical donation was made to Wright State Medical School. Per request of the deceased, there will be no services.
